Easy Beef and Broccoli

Updated: Jan 24, 2020

Like take-out, only better, this easy beef and broccoli will be your go-to weeknight dinner. Not only is it really easy to make and require no cooking skills, it's also very delicious and easy to double, leaving you with leftovers for work the next day.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup oyster sauce

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp sugar

1.5 tsp cornstarch

1 lb beef round steak, thin, cut into strips

3 tbs high heat oil, plus more

1 thin slice of fresh ginger toot

1 clove garlic, smashed

1 lb broccoli, florets

Directions:

Combine oyster sauce to cornstarch in a shallow bowl. Add steak to bowl and coat the steak with the sauce. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge. Heat oil in a wok (preferred) or large skillet over medium-high heat, add ginger and garlic and let them sizzle for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove and discard. Add broccoli to wok, toss until bright green and almost tender, 5-7 minutes. Set aside in a large bowl. Pour more oil in the wok and toss the steak with the marinade until a glaze forms and steak is no longer pink. Return broccoli to the wok, stir until heated through. Serve over a plate of jasmine rice (optional).
