Croissant, Prosciutto, and Cheese Bake

I was hosting a family Christmas breakfast and wanted something festive but easy to make because I wasn't about to get up super early to prep. And that's when TikTok showed me the answer with this croissant bake that takes minimal prep but tastes AMAZING.

My only regret is not taking a better photo. Guess I'll have to make another one soon!

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients:

6-8 butter croissants

4 eggs

1/2 cup milk or heavy cream

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp paper

1 1/2 tbsp fresh herbs, such as rosemary and thyme, chopped and divided

6 oz (about 10 slices) prosciutto

1 block (about 6 oz) Swiss or Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or shred remaining block cheese)

1/4 cup butter, melted

1/4 cup honey

Directions:

Preheat over to 350. Cut your croissants into thirds (they don't have to be even or straight cuts). Whisk together eggs, milk or heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp fresh herbs. Dip your croissant pieces in the egg mixture and shake off excess. Line a pan (any size that fits your croissants) with your dipped croissant, placing the pieces in randomly. If there's egg mixture left over, pour it over the croissants. Fold your prosciutto slices into a rose-like shape and wedge them between your croissants followed by slices of cheese. Grate remaining block of cheese or until you've added your desired amount. Bake for 15-25 minutes or until cheese starts to bubble. I prefer a longer bake to really bring out the flavors. Meanwhile, combine melted butter, honey and some fresh herbs until homogenous. When your croissant bake is done, remove from the oven and spread the honey butter over the croissants. Best served warm.
